Here are some reviews we received during June 2011.

Great customer service, great quality products.

Emily D., Dublin

The extra tough rainwear continues to be fantastic solution for the kid that does everything. Comfortable, light, zipped and 2 yrs on nearly as good as the day it arrived. So we bought another set and they are better still! Only downside is that there are not dungarees for the older versions.. As for service, despatched same day as described and with a personal touch, love it.

Sorcha, Cork

My son loved his new raincoat and they were very excited that it was raining the morning the package arrived so they could wear them to school. Hopefully they won’t get too much use this summer though!

Lorna, Co. Carlow

My daughter loves this raincoat, bright and colourful, comfortable to wear, pink!, it ticks all the boxes – thank you 🙂

I have bought fleeces and waterproof gear for our kids from PuddleDucks for the past 2 years now and we are delighted with them. The fleeces are very good quality and they are fun clothes too … our son really loves the one with the tractor noise. The service from the PuddleDucks team is extremely efficient and we always received our order (in Ireland) the very next day. I have recommended PuddleDucks to other members of our family as well and I will always buy their products with great pleasure knowing we get great quality and service from an Irish based website.

Adriana, Co. Meath

Best money that I’ve spent. Have wasted money on cheaper products in the past that didn’t last or didn’t work. The puddleducks are the beesknees, the kids are happy out and so am I.

Our chief PuddleDucks model – through the years!

Our son Jake has always been our chief model for showing off the PuddleDucks gear. In fact, he was the inspiration for starting our business. When we started PuddleDucks early in 2005, Jake was nearly 4 – he’s now 9. So here’s a quick look back Jake’s modelling career from the past five years.

Starting with  one of our early photos showing him having fun in Currabinney Woods with his friend, Dougie. Jake is wearing his first pair of Everyday Dungarees.

In 2006, Jake is posing with our lovely dog, Rory in the garden.

In 2007, Jake is in summer mood showing of our Everyday Jacket (in the front garden)

In 2008, Jake is showing off our back to school jackets and bags.

In 2009, Jake is showing off our fleece-lined school coat. (in the back garden)

And finally here he is last week, showing off our new Blue Impact Jacket.

Time flies, doesn’t it!

PuddleDuckers Out and About 6

The latest in our series of customer stories and photos comes from Orla Henihan from Co. Mayo.

Orla’s son Conn loves wearing his PuddleDucks dungarees and jacket for splashing in puddles, digging the garden, and taking trips to visit grandad and his “big tractor”. Orla tells us that Conn is getting great mileage out of his PuddleDucks wet gear and really likes puddles, muck and digging.

They’re great photos Orla. Many thanks for sending them on.

We still get great satisfaction out of seeing children like Conn having mucky fun in their PuddleDucks.

If any other customers would like to feature their stories and photos on the blog please drop us an email at info@puddleducks.ie.

Snowday in Cork

It’s rare in Cork to wake up and find the world covered in white. So when the opporunity is there it has to be taken – a snowball flight before school!  With no time to waste it was on with the waterproofs (straight over the pj’s) and out into the snowy garden.

There was plenty of snow for lots of snowballs so we all got covered in the white stuff and even the dogs joined in rolling in the snowy grass.  And even though Jake was a bit late for school I’m glad we did it because by lunch time it had all melted away.

Free Waterproofs for Pre-School Kids

Unfortunately only in Scotland!

I came across this report from the Scottish TV website.

More than 4,000 pre-school children at Highland nurseries are to receive all-weather play suits. Highland Council’s “Rain Starts Play” initiative will allow school staff to take children out in all weather conditions by supplying every pre-school facility in the region with waterproof suits and wellington boots.

The all-weather clothing is to be paid for by funding from a Big Lottery award. The project was one of the groups that competed in the People’s Millions contest on television. Viewers from across the Highlands voted in the Scottish regional contest allowing the project to receive £80,000 funding. The all-weather suits have been arriving at pre-school facilities over recent weeks and many groups of children dressed in red rain suits have been seen enjoying the snow in Inverness, Resolis and elsewhere throughout the Highlands.

Councillor Bill Fernie, chairman of Highland Council’s education, culture and sport committee, said in a statement:  “The beauty of this all-weather equipment is that it will allow our children to play out of doors all year round no matter what the weather.

A fantastic initiative – it would be great if it could be emulated in Ireland. I also like the idea that local communities can vote on how parts of the lottery grants are distributed. True people power!

PuddleDuckers and the Whale

puddleducksecho001

Here’s a photo from Cork’s Evening Echo showing the Walsh brothers on Courtmacsherry Beach to see the unfortunate fin whale who beached there a few weeks ago. Aidan, Michael and Alphie are all proudly wearing their PuddleDucks Waterproof Suits. It’s a great shot. Thanks to their mother, Amy for letting us know about it and to Rob for scanning it.
